A combination of your health insurance and a travel insurance with additional coverage for medical costs offers the most security. In case of code orange they don’t issue “extra cover” on your holiday. However, there are some good travel insurances that cover everything except Covid-19. This is definitely worth taking a look at.

However, this has been solved through a unique Covid-19 insurance offered by the Turkish government. Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersoy is offering a health insurance especially for Covid-19 as of July 1, 2020. It is possible for tourists to buy insurance at the airport while buying tickets from contracted airlines before passport control or else online and through tour operators.

At the time of writing, this has already been possible since 1 July 2020 on flights operated by Turkeys Airlines, Pegasus and SunExpress. If you fly with an other flight service you can inform about the Covid-19 insurance at their service deck by telephone or mail.

Also check before you travel if you need a negative covid – 19 test to travel into Turkey. Conditions keep changing as time go’s on. In the season you have to wear a mouth-mask in the city’s and the stores. Once at our resort you will also not need a mouth-mask. Just try to keep a distance from one another as long as we have the Covid in this world.

In the bay’s and/ or once seated in the restaurants this will not be needed. There is more than enough fresh air, we live outside. Once you started your sailing holiday you will not notice a lot of the Covid policies. You will be freed of them as long as you are on the water, at the bay’s or in the home basis of B&B Yachting. Wherever you go, of course, you need to use your common sense and keep a little distance from other people.

Turkey is the only country in the world where you can insure yourself against the Covid-19 virus.
