A really impressive sailing trip with a total distance of about 160 nautical miles. This includes 2 legs, each of about 35 miles. We visit bays as well as some larger towns. As we sail along the coast you will discover ancient Turkey and you will see some of the most beautiful places Turkey has to offer.
This flotilla is will appeal to sailors who want to see more of Turkey’s history. For children, there are lots of things to do on this trip. Visiting caves with the dinghy, dinner on a barbeque boat (!), watersports, snorkelling, to name a few. We usually have between 10 and 30 children on flotillas during school holidays, so they’ll have plenty of friends.
The route is flexible, for example an extra day in Kas can easily be accommodated.
After a detailed briefing and after stocking up the boat we start head off to one of Skopea Limani’s beautiful bays, then leaving the bay of Fethiye to Karacaören, then along the 7 capes to Kalkan, a beautiful oriental harbour with interesting shops and restaurants.
The next leg takes us close to the Greek Kastellorizon to a bay south of Kas then on to Kekova, sailing past innumerable unnamed islands to the east. Then a few days to explore the ancient surroundings. There is an opportunity to make an excursion to Mira, the birthplace of Saint Nicholas.
Following this, a pleasant sail to a beautiful bay just beyond the Kekova sea, enclosed by mountains, a truly impressive sight. The next day we sail towards the west to the town of Kas – excellent restaurants, superb views,….and live music!
Ater this it will be time to head back to the Gulf of Fethiye, with a long sail to Cold Water Bay, beautiful, and isolated by the surrounding mountains.. A true “Blue Lagoon”. From here we can provide guided walks, or you could try your hand at paragliding. We then return to one of Skopea Limani’s beautiful bays to sail back to ourhome base in Fethiye.
Routes vary depending on the weather and safety, and the preferences of the group.
